LOCATION: Educational Support Services - 900 Watervliet-Shaker Road / Multiple Locations
DATES: April 1, 2025 through September 15, 2025
BASIC FUNCTION:
Supervise and administer aspects of BOCES regional school program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for directing and supporting overall site operations, services, and staff.
- Provide leadership and support to site supervisors and staff.
- Hire summer school faculty and staff members to fill openings with qualified personnel.
- Participate in the planning of the BOCES Regional Summer School program with the Director of Educational Support Services or other assigned staff.
- Establish a daily schedule in consultation with participating school districts.
- Revise the faculty and student handbooks.
- Assist in coordinating NERIC services with participating sites and districts.
- Be on-site daily at summer school site locations to provide support and guidance to summer school site supervisors and staff.
- Establish registration procedures.
- Establish staffing levels based on student enrollment.
- Develop a master schedule for the summer school program.
- Acquire accurate student registration statistics for summer school BOCES service billing.
- Oversee the accurate completion and collection of employee time sheets.
- Complete grade reporting.
- Develop an examination schedule.
- Determine the needs and acquire staff for proctoring and special education accommodation for examinations.
- Facilitate the regional scoring process for Regent's examinations.
- Participate in debriefing meetings following summer school.
- Implement policies, procedures, and/or processes to provide direction and comply with mandated requirements.
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State-registered college or university with a master’s degree in educational administration.
- Valid NYS School District Administrator or School District Leader certificate.
- Experience in an administrative role, including hiring, scheduling, staff supervision, student discipline, and coordination and administration of state tests.
- Experience with a regional summer high school program, either as a teacher, administrative intern or administrator. preferred.
The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
