What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Clearance Representative position at Capital Region Orthopaedics?
Capital Region Orthopaedics (The Bone and Joint Center) is currently seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented individual for a full-time position of Financial Clearance Representative. Successful candidates will be able to work well in a fast-paced team environment, and must be able to provide the highest level of customer service.
The Financial Clearance Representative will be responsible for a performing key pre-registration functions for appointments in a large medical practice.
Pre-registration functions include a combination of the following:
- Performing insurance eligibility verifications prior to the patient’s appointment
- Confirming insurance information is entered into our practice management system correctly
- Verifying whether the insurance is in network with the practice
- Determining if a prior authorization is required
- Communication with patients regarding benefits, authorization’s, etc.
- Communication with other internal departments
- Other duties as assigned
*Prior insurance knowledge including insurance eligibility experience preferred.
