Responsibilities
As a Surgical Assistant with Capital Region Surgical Assistants you will provide direct assistance to the attending surgeon intra-operatively while under the direct supervision of the attending surgeon by preforming tasks such as patient positioning, prepping, draping, wound exposure, assisting with achieving hemostasis, inserting and securing surgical drains, insertion of surgical implants, preforming closure all body planes as needed and dressing application. bThe Surgical Assistant will also perform as an active team member assisting the nursing and anesthesia staff in preoperative and postoperative patient care as needed.
As a Surgical Assistant with Capital Region Surgical Assistants you will report directly to Senior Surgical Assistants with in the group.
Remain eligible to obtain Surgical Assistant privileges at facilities as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Assistant program
- Surgical Assistant certification ( CSA, CSFA, SA-C)
- Virginia Surgical Assistant License ( required )
- District of Columbia Surgical Assistant License ( preferred )
- Minimum 2 years of experience assisting in preferred such as but not limited to Robotics, General, OB/GYN, Ortho, Neuro, Plastic and Reconstructive.
