What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver position at Capital Sanitary Supply?
We have a great opportunity for a delivery driver to join our team at Capital Sanitary in Dubuque. No CDL required, however, experience driving a 26 foot box truck is necessary. This position works Monday through Friday starting at 6:30 am.
We're a large distributor of janitorial supplies and equipment. Our drivers have new trucks, dedicated routes, are home every night, and are eligible for quarterly bonuses. Join our team!
Job tasks include:
- Able to follow DOT regulations and safety standards
- Willingness to travel and work the assigned schedule and route
- Perform inspections of vehicle prior to and following each trip
- Assist in assembly and fulfillment of orders to be shipped to customers
- Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
- Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods from truck at selected destinations
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
- Safely operate necessary equipment in work area, including forklift and/or pallet jack
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required safety and DOT certifications
- Wear proper safety equipment
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Job requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred but not necessary
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Prior experience driving large commercial truck required
- 1-2 years previous commercial delivery experience preferred
- 1-2 years previous warehouse and distribution experience preferred
- Previous pallet jack and forklift experience preferred
- Able to regularly move/lift up to 50 lbs and load/unload heavy cargo
- Strong time management, customer service, and communication skills
