What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Tester position at Capital Technology Alliance?
Key Responsibility:
- Collaborate with development teams to analyze the scope of application updates and define a tailored testing strategy aligned with those changes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, test scenarios, test data, success criteria, and expected outcomes.
- Execute integration testing to verify the seamless interaction between application components and supporting infrastructure.
- Conduct functional and end-to-end testing from a user-centric perspective, validating expected behavior under various conditions, including negative and edge-case scenarios.
- Report, track, and document defects and deviations, including detailed steps to reproduce, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform regression testing to validate that updates have not introduced new defects and that existing functionality remains stable.
- Assess application performance, identifying potential bottlenecks, latency issues, or scalability concerns.
- Verify security controls, including authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms, and recommend enhancements where vulnerabilities are found.
- Conduct cross-browser compatibility testing to ensure consistent functionality and user experience across different platforms.
- Prepare and deliver detailed test reports, including defect summaries, test execution status, quality assessments, and actionable recommendations for improvement.
Required Experience:
- 10 years of experience programming and developing test scripts to test web applications.
- 5 years of experience utilizing automated testing tools/platforms to test applications.
- Experience conducting application testing without utilizing automated testing.
- Experience with Kanban, Scrum, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience working collaboratively with business analysts and developers.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Experience with building test cases and running tests using Tricentis Tosca, Worksoft, and/or Microfocus ALM
- Experience with application development security tools such as WebInspect
- Experience in standing up a new automated testing solution/platform
- Ability to plan, organize, and document IT solutions
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate IT work assignments
- Experience testing APIs
- Experience working in a project-oriented environment
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Software Engineering, or another related field.
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
