System Administrator

Capital Technology Alliance is seeking the services of an experienced Systems Administrator under the working title of Azure Cloud Engineer.

The Azure Cloud Engineer shall serve as a Subject Matter Expert for one of our clients. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources.
• Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention and recommend changes or upgrades.
• Perform Microsoft Entra identification management activities.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation.
• Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access.
• Train infrastructure team members on Azure and Azure best practices.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and Linux server issues with minimal impact on users.
• Write PowerShell scripts for monitoring server properties and performing Active Directory and Azure management activities.
• Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security for OIT staff and users.
• Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements within the Department’s infrastructure team.
• Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems.
• Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.

Required Experience:

• Five (5) or more years of Windows server experience.
• Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure or Cloud experience.
• Expertise with branching strategy, CI/CD pipeline implementation with Azure pipelines, and version control across environments with Azure repositories.
• Three (3) or more years of Linux server experience.
• Server administration experience with three (3) or more years of administering Windows 2016 and newer.
• Five (5) or more years of experience with Active Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) administration in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users.
• Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts.
• Experience working in a virtual server or Cloud environment.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Certification in Agile or Scrum-based Project Management.
• IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Foundations Certified.
• Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base.
• Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects.
• Experience managing waterfall projects.
• Experience with state government projects.
• Experience managing and reporting projects in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.
• Experience working with technical programming teams.
• Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems.
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Skills in facilitation and team building.
• Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment.
• Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming and data analytics.
• A team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic.
• Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.

Education:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Alternatively, four (4) years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable
