General Summary
Operates a Haul truck (typically 35-tons and up) to transport raw material from Pit/Quarry to receiving point of operation. Additionally, operates related equipment such as a water wagon, backhoe and Front-end loader as needed.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)
- Pre-Inspection and operation of Haul Truck and other equipment
- Operates a Haul Truck to transport raw material from pit to crusher
- Operates other equipment such as a water wagon, backhoe, haul unit and front-end loader as needed
- Prepares a daily equipment safety report
- Assists with unplugging the crusher as needed
- Responsible for plant operation assignments
- Responsible for plant housekeeping assignments
- Assisting in plant and equipment servicing and maintenance repairs
- Adjusts conveyor belts for the continuous operation of conveyors
- Washes equipment and services machinery and/or equipment such as Haul truck ,Front-end loader and backhoe
- Inspect, ascent, start and safely operate and control assigned off-road mining equipment in a hazardous mining environment
- Performs others duties as required

- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1 years of heavy equipment experience required
- Knowledge of quarry or related construction operations desired
- Ability to communicate effectively using appropriate interpersonal skills
- Must possess ability to read, understand and obey safety rules and regulations, equipment operating instructions and danger notices
- Must possess good analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to supervise own work and be self-motivated.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to perform job task assignments 8 to 14 hours per day, 6 days a week and occasional weekends
- Ability to mount and dismount mobile equipment via ladders, stairs, and grab irons
- Ability to operate heavy mining equipment and aggregate production equipment on rough terrain while seated for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to manipulate equipment controls including steering wheels, joysticks, levers, and switches
- Ability to work safely in and around other mobile equipment in often congested areas in a fast paced environment
- Orientated to hear with ability to discriminate between sound and maintain awareness of surroundings
- Ability to use/wear personal protective equipment, respirators, hearing protection, gloves, protective eyewear, hardhats, protective clothing and industrial footwear
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. ground to should height and up to 75lbs. occasionally
- Ability to have full range of motion for all extremities/spine
- Frequent and prolonged sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, twisting, reaching and grasping for periods extending to 14 hours
- Ability to walk and perform tasks on rough, uneven surfaces and terrain
- Ability to work on stairs, ladders, raised platforms and flat surfaces at varying heights
