CBW is currently seeking the right individual to fill a full-time opening for Commercial Preventive Maintenance Technician.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include any/all of the following:
- Assumes responsibility for effectively completing electrical maintenance functions.
- Troubleshoots and repairs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units, including chillers, boilers and heat pumps.
- Troubleshoots malfunctioning heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems to determine the cause of the malfunction.
- Performs scheduled maintenance inspections, and adjusts, cleans and calibrates various systems to assure proper system operations.
- Replaces expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units and other component parts.
- Troubleshoots and repairs direct digital and pneumatic control systems.
- Checks distribution systems for proper velocity, volume, temperature, pressure, etc.
- Assists in training other technicians and staff in preventative maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Prepares records and reports describing procedures, actions taken and recommended solutions.
- Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment.
- Responds to emergency service requests.
- Documents test and inspection dates and results.
- Completes work orders, lists materials issued and used, and documents electrical work repairs.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with area staff and with management.
- Ensures that management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School/GED diploma.
- Working knowledge of:
- Electrical and wiring fundamentals
- Cooling and heating technologies
- Plumbing principles
- Refrigeration systems (CFC certification preferred)
- Mechanical principles (NAPE 3rd class Training or equivalent is preferred)
- Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills such as Microsoft, PM software.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in light commercial preventative maintenance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one setting to members of management and fellow employees.
- Ability to write legibly for form completion.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards/requirements.
- Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards/requirements.

- Ability to comprehend and carry out safety sensitive duties according to company policies, procedures and safe work practices.
- Ability to perform simple cognitive tasks such as reasoning, planning, multi task, simple mathematics and Teamwork (able to handle conflict or disagreements appropriately).
