What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Sales Engineer position at Capitol Boiler Works?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include any/all of the following:
- Is knowledgeable of the mechanical contracting industry and the bidding practices in which our Company specializes.
- Prospects for new accounts and seeks opportunities to increase existing ones. Conducts regular sales calls to develop and maintain customer relationships and follow up on leads.
- Estimates, writes proposals and tracks sales deals through closing and finalizes sales contracts.
- Participates in the marketing efforts of our Company as assigned.
- Meets established quotas and sales goals.
- Ensures that sales accounts are serviced in accordance with Company standards and policies.
- Forecasts long range account sales and product needs and communicates related information regularly to management.
- Manage other sales personnel as assigned.
- Ensures that customers are satisfied with Company products and services.
- Obtains customer feedback and continually works to improve products and services.
- Resolves customer requests, complaints, and problems.
- Promotes goodwill and conveys a positive image of the Company.
- Promotes products and services at trade shows as required.
- Works effectively and maintains good relationships with Company approved vendors and subcontractors to ensure the best pricing and response for our Company.
- Sets sales goals in accordance with Company objectives. Tracks progress toward goals.
- Aids area personnel as needed.
- Keeps management informed of area activities, changes in competitive conditions, and significant problems.
- Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Completes special projects.
- Provides backup for other sales positions as needed.
- Manages expense account and expenditures in the best interest of our Company.
Salary Range:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
- Good knowledge of Industries products and services.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and principles.
- Previous sales experience within HVAC industry.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Office, filing and records management systems, and other office procedures and terminology.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one setting to members of management and fellow employees.
- Ability to compose professional correspondences
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards/requirements.
- Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards/requirements.
- Compliance with all personnel policies and practices.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out safety sensitive duties according to company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Ability to perform simple cognitive tasks such as reasoning, planning, multitask, simple mathematics, and Teamwork (able to handle conflict or disagreements appropriately).
