Overview:
The Broadcaster & Media Relations Manager will be an energetic and integral part of the Durham Bulls marketing team. This position will be the primary contact for all media relations, as well as be the voice of the Durham Bulls on-air. This is a full-time, in-office position that is required to work long hours in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Media / Communications Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the media relations of the club, including working with the media, handling credential requests, and other duties as assigned.
- Proactively work to engage the media with team news, promotional news, storylines, community
impact.
- Responsible for planning Media Day with coordination of the Marketing Department.
- Responsible for distributing stat packets, rosters, lineups to media, as well as to guest relations location on game day.
- Responsible for writing and updating media guide and keeping team specific content on the website up to date.
- Main contributor and creative of the Durham Bulls podcast.
- Assist with website content, including two stories per week and writing a team blog.
- Write one feature story for each game day program per homestand.
- Content creator with other members of the marketing staff for all other team publications, website and social media.
- Writing game recap stories / press releases and handling distribution for all games.
- Other media / communication responsibilities as assigned.
Broadcasting Duties:
- Play-by-play and commentary for all Durham Bulls home and away games. (Away games broadcast from Durham)
- Assist with social media content for away games.
- Host pregame and post-game special shows as needed.
- Conduct interviews for video and written content.
- Record and edit video stand-ups for social media content.
- Other Broadcasting Duties as assigned.
Other Duties:
- Expected to work and assist all events held at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
- Other general Front Office duties – including assisting with hiring events, special events, pulling tarp and other general duties involving working in a Minor League Front Office.
- Assist with creating team community relations initiatives, as well as the execution and promotion of such events.
Qualification Requirements:
- Experience working or proficiency in MiLB’s Forge, Microsoft Office products, Adobe In Design,
Photoshop
- Experience with graphic design, video editing and social media
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
- People oriented, able to multi-task, be organized, motivated and detail focused
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and all events
