Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-process and final inspections, interpreting technical specifications, and maintaining detailed documentation. Your expertise will be critical in upholding quality assurance and ensuring smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Verification:
Execute in-process and final inspections following established guidelines.
Determine appropriate inspection methods and set up requirements, especially for first article parts.
Quality Control Authority:
- Exercise the authority to halt production to prevent further processing of defective parts.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspection results and complete all required quality assurance forms.
Produce clear and meaningful reports on quality metrics and findings.
Equipment Calibration:
- Oversee and manage calibration programs to monitor and control production and quality control gauges.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Technical Expertise:
Solid foundation in mechanical and mathematical inspection principles.
Familiarity with ISO specifications, quality standards, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Measurement & Instrumentation:
Skilled in programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for automated part verification.
Proficiency with hand-held gauging tools, including micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, vernier calipers, height gauges, internal/external thread gauges, ID/OD micrometers, and bore gauges.
Data Management:
- Competent in documenting inspection data using computer systems and generating analytical reports.
Interpersonal & Organizational Skills:
Ability to work effectively in a team environment alongside machinists and engineers.
Capable of coordinating inspection plans, working with minimal supervision, and maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Position Requirements
**Education: **Associate’s Degree in a relevant field.

Experience:
0–2 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to metrology.
Experience as the primary operator/programmer of both stationary and portable CMMs.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret both single-part and assembly drawings.
Preferred Experience:
Working knowledge of PC-DMIS software.
Basic understanding of metallurgy and instrument calibration.

General Requirements:
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
Tasks involve reaching, fine motor activities (typing, using hand tools), and precise visual inspection.
Must be comfortable working near moving parts, vehicles, or electrical sources, with strict adherence to safety protocols.
