Job Description:
Role
The Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting and coordinating a wide range of department activities, including, but not limited to, on-site promotions, events, contests, social media content, marketing research, public relation activities and corporate communications, as assigned. The intern works closely with the interactive team, along with research, operations and business development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage on-site promotions in our market areas to drive awareness and engage audiences. Provide results and feedback for each event. Assist in developing future on-site promotions, contests and events.
Monitor all social networks, online local listing sites and online review sites for brand mentions and report findings.
Compile data, assist in competitive research and assist in tracking trends and key analytics.
Assist in the creation of social media and web content based on marketing messaging, campaigns and goals.
Assist with corporate communication and public relations projects as assigned.
Occasional travel for events and promotions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Experience
No direct experience required.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
A high school degree or equivalent. Must be a currently enrolled student in undergraduate collegiate study, or other post-secondary education in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism or another related field.
Skills
Must demonstrate strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills, and be familiar with a variety of social media networks.
Must be able to manage multiple projects across a variety of teams with a willingness to learn and consistently meet deadlines. Must be able to work evening hours at promotional events, with some travel, as needed.
Professional courtesy in dealing with others is required. Role involves regular contact with outside vendors, other internal departments, customers and the community at large.
