Our PET/CT technologists at Open Air MRI use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence.
Overview: We are seeking a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform PET/CT studies at our outpatient imaging center. Must have excellent patient care skills to join our medical team. As a PET/CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures using radioactive materials to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
· Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
· Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
· Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for imaging procedures.
· Operate imaging equipment to capture images of organs and tissues.
· Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
· Produces high quality diagnostic images.
· Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
· Trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
· Trouble-shoots the scanner and peripheral equipment (including monitors, PACS, etc.)
Position Requirements:
· Certification in Nuclear Medicine or Positron Emission Tomography by the NMTCB or Nuclear Medicine ARRT required.
· State license, as required.
· CPR certification required.
· As applicable, valid state driver’s license.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
· Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
· All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with PET/CT imaging
- Familiarity with radiation safety practices.
