What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afterschool Spanish Teacher M & W 3:30-5:30 pm position at Capitol Language Services?
CLS is seeking a part-time Spanish instructor to work during after school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Brent Elementary; located at 301 North Carolina Ave SE, Washington, District of Columbia 20003.
Capitol Language Services provides high quality afterschool programs and social activities for children aged 3 – 11 years old. You will teach Spanish language classes to group of children divided by age and level.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years teaching Spanish to children in elementary school.
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- Excellent English speaking skills.
- Ability to prepare level appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Able to work independently.
- Must be a native speaker or near native Spanish speaker.
- Ability to follow a curriculum.
- Excellent class management.
- Able to accept guidance and supervision from supervisor and administrative staff.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and cultural appreciation.
- Legal US work authorization.
- Good references from previous employers
- Available to teach until June 2025.

Hourly pay:
-$35-40/hr. depending on experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsibilities include planning, preparing and delivering Spanish immersion classes to children of different grades and levels. The new instructor will also evaluate students’ performance, take attendance, communicate any behavior issues to the coordinator and program director and keep track of student’s work. Other duties as required.
