Position Title : Associate InstructorProgram : Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Magnet Middle SchoolGeneral Purpose : Under the supervision of the team leader, literacy coach, math coach, and administration, the associate instructor will work with grade level teams to support students in classrooms during the day. In addition, they will work with small groups of students during our College Prep block and, when needed, will cover academic classes. The associate instructor will meet with various teams to plan learning units, create common assessments, review reading and math data, instructional practices, and create action plans. Lastly, the Associate Instructor will be a member of our Intervention Team to create and administer plans for our most at-need students.Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Supervise and instruct small groups of students 3 times a day in the area of reading during our College Prep block.Assist Literacy teachers in the classrooms based on needs.Cover classrooms for teachers when they do not have substitutes.Collect and input behavioral and academic data into school systems.Attend professional learning sessions available.Commit to teaching reading intervention using research-based practices.Help with duties around the building and other tasks assigned by administration.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Requires a bachelor’s degree.Requires ability to collaborate with grade level teams.Requires ability to motivate students.Requires knowledge of research-based practices.Requires a desire to grow as a leader.Requires daily focus on professional learning.Working Conditions : NormalTo access the job description and salary range please click https : / / www.crec.org / careers / jobs.php#J-18808-Ljbffr
