Position Summary: The Senior Technical Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and daily operations of the Al Lab's technical infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring that all Al systems and services are functioning optimally and securely, supporting both research and educational activities within the lab.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage Al Lab systems, including hardware setup, software installation, and network configuration.
- Provide technical support to faculty, students, and staff, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth operation of the lab's resources.
- Maintain and monitor the lab's infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment, to ensure high availability and performance.
- Assist in managing remote access for students and faculty, ensuring secure and efficient use of Al Lab resources.
- Automate routine tasks and processes within the lab to enhance efficiency and reduce manual workload.
- Collaborate with the Principal Technical Administrator to plan and execute upgrades, expansions, and other infrastructure projects.
- Document all technical procedures, configurations, and system changes for future reference and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of experience in IT administration, with a focus on managing advanced computing environments.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems, networking, and containerized environments (docker/podman and Kubernetes).
- Experience with enterprise networking switches (Mellanox/Nvidia or Cisco preferred) Experience with Al/ML frameworks and GPU-based computing is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
Salary Range:
The salary for this position typically ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
