Job Summary:
Our Solar Division is steadily growing, and we are looking for an experienced Superintendent to oversee our Commercial, Industrial, and utility-scale solar construction and renewable projects in the Central Valley, Bakersfield and/or Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the highest level of productivity and production of all field employees on all assigned projects to meet or exceed the allotted predetermined labor budgets and time frames.
- Assist in lay out of work for crew.
- Solar/PV construction & commissioning.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Inspection and logistics of large-scale roof and ground mount PV electrical systems
- Preplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job schedule.
- Comply with all documentation requirements (Daily Reports, Safety Reports, Inspection Reports, and 2 & 3 week look ahead schedules)
- Conduct training and work performance appraisals.
- Provide an objective viewpoint of each project and report to Project Managers on the progress of the project.
- Collaborate with FM & PM's to identify the proper tools, equipment and materials required on the job site and ensure all rental equipment is getting maximum usage or promptly returned.
- Develop, implement and direct meaningful and effective plans for managing time, materials and manpower (to include sub-contractors) and see that these plans are closely followed.
- Conduct site visits as required, particularly during project initiation and ramp-up phase.
Qualifications:
- Valid CA General Electrician License or ET card preferred
- Valid CA Driver's License
- 5-8 years of experience in commercial solar installation, rooftop, ground-mount, and carports
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical sub-contractor supervision
- NABCEP PV Installation professional certification is a plus
- Proven ability to lead projects ranging from 1-2 MW and valued from $5 - $40 million.
- Experience and fundamental understanding of distributed generation solar projects
- Knowledge of DAS or SCADA installations, including but not limited to the installation of system weather stations and various components.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications and designs' intent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Moderate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hands and arms to operate equipment. Must have a strong sense of balance and no fear of heights. Must be able to lift and move
up to 75lbs
