We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Exploratory & Enrichment Teacher to lead engaging and diverse activities for children ages 2 through middle school. This role offers flexible scheduling with a minimum of 5 hours per week, and those working 36 hours per week are considered full-time with benefits.
In this role, you’ll guide elementary students in physical education, music, art, foreign language, and other exploratory subjects during the school day. Additionally, you'll lead after-school and summer camp enrichment clubs that spark creativity, movement, and hands-on learning for elementary and middle school students.
For our youngest learners (ages 2-5) in daycare, you’ll introduce them to fun and developmentally appropriate enrichment activities like music, movement, and nature exploration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach elementary Phy Ed, music, art, foreign language, or other exploratory subjects during the school day during the school year (starting in fall 2025).
- Lead enrichment clubs after school and during summer camp, offering a variety of activities such as:
- Sports & Movement: Soccer, basketball, football, yoga for kids, martial arts, dance, Zumba, gymnastics, obstacle courses.
- Creative Arts: Nature sketches, sculpture, painting, drama/theater, storytelling, creative writing, puppetry.
- STEM & Exploration: LEGO engineering, robotics, science experiments, astronomy, nature adventures, woodworking.
- Community & Life Skills: Cooking, community service projects, leadership clubs, gardening, entrepreneurship for kids.
- Outdoor Adventures: Hiking, birdwatching, camping basics, survival skills, eco-exploration.
Provide age-appropriate enrichment experiences for 2-5-year-olds in daycare, such as:
- Music & movement, dance, foreign language, gardening, soccer, basketball, nature walks, bird watching, sensory play.
- Plan and facilitate engaging, hands-on experiences that promote creativity, physical activity, and social-emotional growth.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for children of all skill levels and backgrounds.
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop and refine programming.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or camp setting.
- Background in education, physical education, music, art, foreign language, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Passion for leading creative and active learning experiences.
- Ability to manage groups of children in different age ranges effectively.
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills.
