Responsibilities:
• Work and coordinate with the Director of Safety & Training, safety managers, training manager, drug & alcohol manager, operations, and others to manage and promote:
• Keolis Operator Improvement Program
• Defensive Driving Program (Preventability Program)
• Accident Reduction Program
• New Operator Mentoring Program and
• Other programs, policies, procedures, and practices in the direction of the Director of Safety & Training.
• Oversee, manage, supervise, and perform all aspects of all programs, including the Keolis Operator Improvement Program, specifically the Triggered-Event Procedure and Positive Improvement Procedure that uses dash cam technology (e.g., Lytx DriveCam).
• Collaborative with and train, educate, and mentor Cam Drive Supervisor operations, safety, and other managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders in all aspects of all programs to support and assist in the team approach success to improve operator skills, behaviors, and awareness.
• Actively identify at risk operator behaviors and provide coaching or retraining to improve safety, prevent accidents, and to enhance operator skill levels, reduce at risk behaviors, and recognize exceptional operator performance.
• This position is responsible for the management, training, supervision, discipline, oversite, growth, and development of their direct reports and staff.
• Develop measurement of data metrics, benchmarks, targets, and performance indicators to quantify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for improvement, and threats into graphs, tables, and recommendations for improvement, mitigation, or corrective action to be distributed to Keolis and CAPMetro management, as applicable.
• Meets with safety managers, training manager, operations, and D&A manager to review behavior, data, and other metrics, observations, and assessments to update and improve operator performance outcomes through improved coaching, mentoring, and retraining techniques, curriculum, and awareness campaigns.
• Participate in and schedule joint committee, working groups, and task team meetings with safety, training, operations, and other areas, as applicable. If such meetings are managed by the OIP Manager, they will ensure that an agenda, minutes, and action items are recorded, shared, and retained as evidence of collaboration and effort.
• Perform coaching, mentoring, retraining, and offer other educational activities or information to improve operator behaviors, skills, and awareness.
• Conduct ongoing observation reviews of Cam Drive, Mset, CCR/KTI, dash cam videos and other information to determine operator behaviors, actions, and weaknesses that warrant coaching, mentoring, and retraining.
• Conduct ongoing observation reviews of Cam Drive, Mset, CCR/KTI dash videos and other information to determine operator strengths and outstanding skills that warrant recognition and commendation as part of Operator Excellence Policy & Procedures.
• Conduct field activities to perform observation reviews, inspections, and discussions with operators to determine strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement, through informal coaching, mentoring, encouragement, and awareness. Makes recommendations for operators that may need retraining in any one or more areas.
• Conduct field activities to talk to, listen to, and learn from operators’ safety, training, or other concerns, suggestions, hazards, or risks, including ensuring confidentiality and anonymity, and address issues and towards continuous improvement, including filed observations of hazards, risks, and concerns.
• Be part of a team effort with Keolis and CAP Metro management and employees to promote and champion Safety Management System (SMS) as defined by 49 CFR 673 approach and CAP Metros Agency Safety Plan to safety with a heavy emphasis on risk management, safety assurance, and safety promotion.
• Develop, perform, and conduct regular and ongoing safety assurance and quality assurance verification and validation reviews and audits of various programs, policies, and procedures as defined by the Director of Safety & Training.
• Assist the safety department with on-call duties on rotation and investigation of accidents, incidents, and work-related injuries, as assigned. This includes on-call duties as part of a rotation with the safety managers, training manager, and D&A manager.
• Assist the management and support of the Keolis Trackit software safety management system, including accident/incident quality control, inspection, and other module activities as assigned or directed by the Director of Safety & Training, in collaboration with safety managers, training manager, data system teams, CAPMetro, and other stakeholders.
• Work with and assist Keolis and Cap Metro enterprise risk management and claims management, employees, and programs, including commercial vehicle liability, general liability, and workers compensation claims as assigned or directed.
• Other functions, duties, and activities as determined by the Director of Safety & Training. \
New Operator Training
• Develop and provide a training overview of the applicable program elements (Operator Improvement Program, Defensive Driving Program, Accident Reduction Program, New Operator Mentoring Program, and other applicable programs, policies, and procedures under the direction of the Director of Safety & Training (30 – 60 minutes).
Monitor Risk management information
• Secure and retain all reports and pertinent information are immediately available for internal, external, or client audits, reviews, or other queries on a shared drive.
• Maintain accurate computer records of all program activities, including metrics, videos, reports, audits, and all other pertinent paperwork.

• Continue to improve your skills and knowledge in safety, training, and operator improvements, and other aspects of transit.
• Continuing to grow, improve your communication, coaching, mentoring, training, and instructional skills to the company.
