Job Title: Recreation Worker
Division: Guest Experience
Reports to: Recreation Supervisor
Capon Springs and Farms is seeking a responsible, outgoing, guest-focused person for our recreation department. In this role you will serve as a pool attendant and Kid’s camp leader, creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for our guests to ensure they have an unforgettable summer!

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Oversee activities at Capon Springs pool and surrounding areas.
- Explain rules, regulations and policies; and ensure guests follow safety guidelines.
- Monitor weather conditions for inclement weather and notify management if unsafe conditions arise.
- Set up pool seating and umbrellas. Maintain cleanliness of the pool areas.
- Stock fresh towels and hand out towels to guests. Remove used towels from the pool area.
- May assist in cleaning the pool and equipment.
- Oversee Capon Springs Kid’s camp by leading a variety of activities such as nature hikes, crafts, story time, games, etc. for campers ages 5-12.
- Communicate with parents to gather all pertinent information and ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Escort children to and from play areas and activities.
- Clean and organize play areas as needed, pick up trash and straighten recreational equipment or furniture.
- Watch for possible safety hazards and report any safety related situations to management.
- Notify management immediately in the event of an emergency.
- Provide care for minor injuries such as cuts or scrapes and provides initial care for more serious injuries until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- May assist in other areas of the resort in case of inclement weather or when the pool is closed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a recreational or hospitality field is preferred.
Knowledge and Characteristics:
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Lifeguard Certification preferred.
- Must be at least 16 years old due to child labor laws.
- Swimming proficiency and comfort in water conditions.
- Ability to react calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
- Ability to interact with guests of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to maintain a positive and productive working relationship with other team members, managers, and departments.

- Mon: 2p-6p (Pool Attendant)
- Tues: 9a-1p (Kids Camp), 2p-6p (Pool Attendant)
- Wed: 9a-1p (Kids Camp), 2p-6p (Pool Attendant)
- Thurs: 2p-6p (Pool Attendant)
- Fri: 9a-1p (Kids Camp), 2p-6p (Pool Attendant)
- Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
Terms of Employment:
This is a seasonal position from mid-June through August, approximately 32 hours per week. There is a possibility for an earlier start date working in other departments. Position requires regular standing, walking, hiking, etc. in hot temperatures. May occasionally require lifting or moving items such as equipment or furniture.
