BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY
Performs highly advanced (senior-level) counseling and psychological work. Provides assistance to Service Members of the Texas Military Department (TMD) with mental health or other emotional needs. Serves as a regional promoter of mental fitness for TMD and networks with community resources best suited to aid clients. Work involves assessing, counseling, reporting and research. Reports to the TMD Counseling Program Manager and works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
WORK HOURS : Monday - Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week
Tuesday - Friday, 10 hours a day, 40 hours a week
Monday - Thursday, 10 hours a day, 40 hours a week

PHYSICAL / WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically performed in an office setting involving sitting, standing, and walking to perform job duties. Work requires extensive use of a personal computer and telephone. Incumbent must be able to drive a vehicle to designated locations. Work requires extensive travel approximately 10% with occasional overnight stays. This position may periodically require the ability to lift, carry, move and / or set up equipment and materials that weigh up to 25 pounds. May be required to work evenings, weekends or holidays as required.
