Job Description
TPWD MISSION
To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Under the direction of the Park Superintendent, this position performs routine (journey-level) state park operations work including interpretation and the preservation of Lake Tawakoni State Park. Promotes conservation and stewardship of natural and cultural resources. Responsible for interpreting the geological setting of the park as well as providing information about park history to the public. Conducts interpretive programs, tours, hikes, and special events and promotes outreach programs with schools, libraries, scouts and other organizations. Assists with maintenance and cleaning of park buildings and grounds, and other park projects. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
NOTE : Temporary position contingent upon funding with fluctuating full-time / part-time hours based on operational needs.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from High School or GED.
Experience : No experience.
Licensure :
Applicant must possess a valid state driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience :
Experience working with the public.
Experience in park interpretation and continuing education programs.
Experience in natural and / or cultural resource management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.
