Job Summary
The Juvenile Mental Health Specialist is responsible for providing highly complex senior-level work in overseeing residential mental health correctional staff who provide direct care to juveniles on a correctional residential mental health unit. Work involves overseeing the daily operations of a juvenile residential mental health unit; and facilitating youth rehabilitation, supervision of youth, and coaching their personal development in accordance with individualized treatment plans.

Work involves overseeing the daily operations of a juvenile residential mental health unit; and facilitating youth rehabilitation, supervision of youth, and coaching their personal development in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of a juvenile residential mental health unit.
- Facilitate youth rehabilitation, supervision of youth, and coaching their personal development.
- Plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others.
- Provide supervision and direct care for youth in a residential correctional facility.
- Supervise other Juvenile Correctional Officers during shifts.
- Ensure the safety and security of youth and staff.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of full-time wage earning experience supervising or providing rehabilitation/treatment services to youth or adults in a treatment program, correctional program, or a residential setting.
