SUMMARY
The Clinical portion of this position ensures the highest degree of quality care by planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of our care services in accordance with resident needs, government regulations and our internal policies and procedures. This position will be required to cover more than one site. This position will also have overall responsibility in ensuring that the RCAC/CBRF and Memory Care clinical program runs smoothly and efficiently in their region, and that the residents receive the highest level of quality care in compliance with the State of WI Chapter DHS 83 and/or 89 regulations. May be assigned to a community to assist current management during a Nurse vacancy.
This position has a dual responsibility as an operations specialist. The Operations Specialist portion of this position ensures the highest quality of day to day operational functioning in the community. This position will also have overall responsibility in ensuring that the RCAC/CBRF and Memory Care runs smoothly and efficiently, in accordance with DHS 83 and/or 89. May be assigned to a community to assist current management vacancy, including assisting during transitional time as a result of opening or acquisition of new location.
Other duties may be required as needed given the needs of the community and organization. Based on the role assigned, the responsibilities may vary but may include the following essential responsibilities as defined in this description.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Clinical
- Overseeing and participating in nursing staff onboarding.
- Provides nursing oversight for communities without a Registered Nurse.
- RN supervises and delegates Nursing tasks to direct care staff in compliance with Nurse Practice Act and regulatory requirements in the area of basic healthcare and proper documentation with LPN as required.
- Ensures compliance with DHS 83 and 89, including but not limited to regulatory. reporting requirements; as well as adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Monitor and review resident care documentation from a quality perspective, which may include medication administration, observation notes, assessments, care plans, resident medical record.
- Continually seeks out and directs quality improvement activities that focus on wellness, overall clinical operations, which may include medication management, risk management, staff training, safety, and survey preparedness.
- Delivers health-related in-service and medication management training.
- Collaborates with Executive Director, and Director of Clinical Operations to implement company policies and procedures to guide the direction of the clinical operation.
- Maintains knowledge of State Regulations and updates for DHS 83 and 89.
- Has 24-hour accountability for their regional communities and is available for on-call duties on an as-needed basis.
- Ensures that collaborative care meetings are taking place at each community in the assigned region.
Operational
- Assists in the training of newly hired nurses, memory care managers and coordinators, and executive directors as needed.
- Conducts site visits and audits to ensure programs are functioning and meeting operational and standards; provides feedback regarding necessary steps to meet standards if found deficient.
- Ensures compliance with DHS 83 and 89, including but not limited to regulatory reporting requirements, as well as adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Ensures that collaborative care meetings are taking place at each community in the assigned region.
- Assists the memory care communities with ongoing training, education and support with assessments, care planning, resident programming, and overall well-being.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position may have in-direct supervisory responsibilities for all care-related staff and LPN positions.
Qualifications

- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; current RN licensure is required.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care community or other related healthcare environment.
- Ability to travel in-between sites is required.
- Knowledge of DHS Sections 83 and 89 regulations preferred.
- Must be a strong team player with proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Consistently maintains high levels of resident satisfaction.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, state regulatory agencies, hospitals and the general public.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a courteous and helpful demeanor.

- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the care services program.
- Minimum of two years of experience in memory care is preferred.
