About the Role
Capricor Therapeutics is excited to introduce a new IT Engineer / Network Engineer position to strengthen our growing technology infrastructure. In this critical role, you’ll architect, manage, and secure the IT systems and networks that power our research, development, and operations. Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain a secure and scalable network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems, to support lab and office operations.
- Manage and optimize server environments (physical and virtual), ensuring high availability, performance, and data security for critical applications.
- Implement and oversee identity and access management solutions, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) and user lifecycle processes, to safeguard sensitive data.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity and compliance with biotech industry standards.
- Monitor network performance, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks, security risks, or system failures.
- Partner with research and operations teams to integrate IT solutions for lab equipment, cloud platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Research and recommend new tools, hardware, or software to enhance infrastructure efficiency, resilience, and scalability.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of network configurations, system processes, and incident resolutions to support team knowledge sharing and audits.
- Provide occasional after-hours support for urgent system maintenance or outage resolution.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in IT engineering or network administration, with at least 3 years focused on network engineering, including configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Hands-on experience managing server systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Proficiency with identity management tools (e.g., Active Directory) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) implementation.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and experience securing IT environments, ideally in regulated industries such as biotech or healthcare.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network layers using a systematic, solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment, with a proactive mindset for identifying improvement opportunities.
- Availability for occasional after-hours work to address critical system needs.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network , Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or equivalent preferred.
- Completion of training programs in network security, server administration, or cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- GMP experience is preferred but not required.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- Primarily office-based with occasional visits to lab spaces, requiring prolonged periods of computer use.
- May involve lifting or installing IT hardware (e.g., servers, networking equipment) up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to navigate both office and lab environments for on-site troubleshooting or deployments.
