CapSpecialty is seeking a Compliance Specialist who will be responsible for various compliance functions including onboarding, maintenance, and termination of producers through our producer management systems. Review, prepare, distribute, and maintain all producer contracts and documents related to CapSpecialty’s producers. Be an active participant on the Compliance team, working with the Compliance department to achieve its short- and long-term development and planning objectives. The role requires the employee to exercise discretion and independent judgment with the following matters: producer packets, producer changes requested by Underwriting, regulatory compliance projects including state filings and data calls, and management of the producer appointment payment process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate review and analysis of producer packets in the producer management systems in order to complete producer onboarding.
- Be proactive in the maintenance of all producer changes to ensure compliance with company policies and industry licensing regulations. Coordinate producer name changes, terminations, or other producer contract modifications in partnership with Underwriting.
- Maintain compliance related to producer licensing and appointments. Ensure adherence to state rules and regulations and company policies related to producer contracting and appointments.
- Analyze and review SBS Producer Licensing report working with Surety and producers to resolve issues.
- Manage the payment of Compliance department invoices on a monthly basis within the department budget. Provide analysis throughout the year on Compliance budget.
- Review and maintain current Errors and Omissions (E&O) certificates for Producer Contracting.
- Analyze ISO circulars daily/weekly and distribute to Portfolio Review and Actuarial teams as needed.
- Complete data calls, insurance department surveys, and insurance company regulatory filings through SERFF as needed.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ professional experience in agency compliance or in insurance industry, preferably a Property & Casualty environment.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May be required to lift up to 15 lbs at times.
- Occasional business travel including air and car travel may be required.
