Occupational Therapists utilize a variety of skills including, but not limited to therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, fabricating / issuing splints, adaptive equipment recommendations, therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and physical modalities. They develop custom programs aimed at improving activities of daily living. Evaluates patients' physical, neurological, and functional status, including ADLs, motor function, and coordination, to determine impact of hospitalization.Develops and implements individualized treatment plans using manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, splinting, and mobility interventions to restore function and prevent complications.Creates and instructs patients in therapeutic exercise and home programs to improve mobility, strength, and independence.Documents evaluations, progress notes, daily treatments, education, and discharge plans in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.Educates patients, families, and caregivers on pain management, safety strategies, functional adaptations, and discharge recommendations to ensure continuity of care.Identifies safety risks (e.g., falls, cognitive impairments) and implements interventions to promote a safe hospital stay and discharge.Conducts functional assessments (cognition, mobility, ADLs) to guide discharge planning and coordinate care transitions.Supervises OT Assistants and Rehab Aides, ensuring compliance with professional standards.Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, PTs, SLPs, case managers) to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning.Occupational Therapist Skills :Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all timesAbility to work in a busy and stressful environmentCreativity, problem analysis and decision makingExercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentialitySelf-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversightStrong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skillsOccupational Therapist Qualifications :Experience : 1 Years as an Occupational Therapist (Required); Home Health Experience (Strongly Preferred)Licensure : Active California OT License (Required)Certification : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)Valid Driver's License in State of CaliforniaWhy Join Us as a Occupational Therapist?Work in a professional setting with a collaborative team.Take advantage of competitive pay and travel-friendly benefits.Expand your expertise while enjoying a supportive and professional work environment.Take the Next Step!
