Senior Full Stack Engineer III (React & Java) – J-4404

Location: REMOTE; Omaha, NE

Terms: 12-month Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: $55-$65/hr., based on experience

Capstone IT is assisting our client, a prominent leader in the insurance and financial services industry, in hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer III for a remote, contract-to-hire role based in Omaha, NE. This role is critical to the client's digital transformation, focusing on developing and maintaining scalable web applications using React and Java.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain web applications that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. You will build RESTful APIs, develop microservices, and oversee the full software development lifecycle, including coding, automation, testing, deployment, and performance tuning in test and production environments. You will play a key role in solution architecture, ensuring code quality, security, and system performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will mentor and lead, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. This position requires extensive experience with React, Java, Spring Boot, and modern development frameworks. The ideal candidate is an innovative problem-solver with a strong grasp of full-stack development, cloud-based technologies, and automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using React (frontend) and Java (backend).
• Design, build, and manage REST APIs, microservices, and SQL databases for system integration and data management.
• Write and execute unit tests (JUnit, Spock) to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Monitor and optimize application performance for scalability and efficiency.
• Develop automation solutions to improve deployment and testing processes.
• Manage version control and automation workflows using GitHub.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers, fostering best practices and continuous learning.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers, to build scalable, user-friendly applications.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices.
• Maintain documentation for system architecture, development workflows, and coding standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7-10 years of professional experience in React and Java development.
• Expertise in Spring Boot, SQL, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Node.js, Webpack, Yarn, NPM, and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in scripting for both Unix and Windows environments.
• Familiarity with Groovy, XML, HTML, and additional front-end frameworks.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
• Experience designing secure, high-performance applications.
• Ability to work independently, lead projects, and drive innovative solutions.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Docker).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning and technical growth.
