Inventory Control Supervisor
Livingston, LA
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 4am start
Salary: $75,000 with additional bonus potential
PRIMARY FUNCTION
To work within Supply Chain Services (procurement to store) and upstream with vendors to increase the efficiency of the Warehouse Supply chain primarily through tactical and strategic initiatives to increase flow through our DC network. Monitor and develop methods to minimize shrink.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Maintain relationships with CPGs, SV Procurement, SV Category Management and Retail Store Operations to deliver tactical Supply Chain improvement results.
- Maintains vendor relations with regard to supply side/service activities
- Works to improve adequate and timely distribution of products to attain maximum sales potential consistent with good inventory control
- Provide technical direction and assistance to analyze logistical problems, propose countermeasures, and resolve issues
- Manages daily inventory by monitoring the timeliness and accuracy of inventory adjustments made, enforcing consistent warehouse practices in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Work with the Operations team and provide analytics for identified Supply Chain Optimization.
- Responsible for gathering and analyzing data used to provide efficient and effective logistics system operations to grow revenues and bottom line profitability.
- Supervises and assist in decisions regarding space allocation and slotting.
- Project manages Supply Chain improvement initiatives at the tactical level.
- Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted teams
- Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts.
- Helps implement and maintain all Food Safety written programs in accordance to HACCP, FSMA, SQF, Dept. of Agriculture the Food & Drug Administration and Supervalu Corporates Companywide directives
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures adequate inventory of products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy
- Manages daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems
- Develops and implements inventory control procedures
- Coordinates and manages daily physical cycle count processes
- Trains and manages an inventory team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Industrial Engineering or equivalent related discipline required; MBA preferred
- 5 years relevant work experience including 2 years of operational management experience required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint, MS Project
PHYSCIAL ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed either in a temperature-controlled office environment or in a warehouse with temperatures varying from ambient to -10 degrees
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
