Summary
Responsible for organizing and completing any small jobs or projects that are assigned to this position. The Lead Mechanic will be responsible for attending small jobs/project handoff meetings, knowing the scope and budget of each job/project, tracking the hours and costs for the job/project, and making sure that the crew assigned to the job/project is at work and follows Capstone procedures. The Lead Mechanic will see the job/project from beginning to end.
Initiative, decisiveness, tact, integrity, judgment, leadership skills and technical knowledge are essential to achieving the Capstone objectives for this position. Job-related contact can occur with virtually all demographic groups, with much of daily contacts being with Capstone employees and departmental customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Six or more years of combined practical and academic experience in the full range of HVACR sub-fields, including the experience to analyze a typical field situation and provide a timely and correct solution.

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and Access, in the most current version), PowerPoint, and WordPerfect.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train designated employees in proper servicing procedures, practices, and promotion of the Capstone customer satisfaction guarantee philosophy.
- Maintain customer satisfaction and the budget for assigned projects.
- Identify possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects.
- Maintain quality standards by supervising project-assigned staff and inspecting job sites.
- Manage the assigned project within the time and cost estimates.
- Elicit and verify the punch list and ensure that warranty items are completed in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
- Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel.
- Work with the Capstone Sales Team to ensure that small projects/jobs are completed on time and at budget.
- Flexibility to assist in Service as needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Climb and work from various heights when required.

Job Specific Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with all personnel levels, customers and suppliers.
- Ability to negotiate orders with suppliers to ensure prompt and timely receipt of material as well as the best price.
- Be able to comprehend and implement applicable federal, state, and local government laws, rules and regulations, as well as company policy and philosophy.
- Possess a current Texas driver’s license and the ability to drive all types of vehicles in the company fleet within six months of initial employment. Incumbent must be insurable by current insurance carrier.
- Possess a current TDLR and EPA card issued by the State of Texas.
