What are the responsibilities and job description for the Haul Truck Operator - Trainee position at Capstone Mining?
About Us:
Pinto Valley is an open-pit mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, one of the oldest and most productive districts in the US, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix via Highway 60.
We work a seven on seven off work schedule including 7 nights in a row once a month. Overtime is available with Superintendent/Manager approval.
Position Responsibilities:
Train to operate haul trucks, water trucks and articulated trucks. Primarily haul trucks – CAT 789D and 793 models. May also be required to train on: rubber-tired dozer, transport lowboy, or other non-production equipment. As a trainee, some responsibilities may include manual labor.
Position Requirements:
- Fundamentals of safety
- Adherence to the Life Saving Rules and Critical Behaviors
- Lock Out – Tag Out – Test Out (LOTOTO)
- Field-level risk assessments
- Hazard identification
- 2-way radio, horn, and emergency communications
- Light vehicle and heavy equipment pre & post-operation inspection
- Familiarity with mine locations
- In-Pit driving on mine roads around heavy equipment
Developing skills to operate haul trucks, water trucks, and articulated trucks:
- Developing skills to safely operate equipment as designed
- Developing skills to safely and efficiently spot and dump haul trucks
- Learn parking procedures
- Learn refueling procedures
- Learn basic pipe and pump handling
- Understand basic cleaning and safe use of chemicals
Starting pay $23/hr. Once qualified, eligible for a promotion and wage increase to $31.40/hr.
