About the Role

As a Survey Technician, you be responsible for conducting surveys at mine sites and obtaining data used in planning mining operations.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

GPS layout and as-built of blast patterns, projects and other important mining features
Drone flight planning, execution and processing
Mine design compliance assistance
Monitoring of prisms on property using a total station
Survey analysis
Stockpile measuring and reporting
Water level monitoring
Terrestrial LIDAR scanning and processing

Knowledge & Experience

Technical training involving GPS and Total Station equipment.

Understanding of coordinate geometry

Strong work drive and ability to work independently.

Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

Moderate computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.

Prior exposure to mine software or AutoCad is preferred.

Knowledge of open pit mining is preferred.

Prior experience in a copper operation strongly preferred.

Physical Demands of the Role

This role is a physically demanding position. Generally 70% field environment and 30% office environment.

Ability to stand and walk for long durations, including walking across uneven surfaces.

Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
