What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planning Analyst position at Capstone Nutrition?
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in weekly scheduling meetings with functional areas with emphasis on resolving outstanding issues, communicating schedule priorities, and facilitating interdepartmental discussions.
- Assist in coordinating alternate action plans for schedule commitments and conflicts for all affected areas. Facilitate problem resolution and consensus building in support of plant compliance objectives.
- Maintain the “Daily Report” Excel spreadsheet and distribute daily.
- Coordinate with Warehouse & manufacturing to pick and prioritize manufacturing orders (Excel & JD Edwards).
- Coordinate with R&D & Warehouse to pick materials & schedule pilot orders in manufacturing (JD Edwards).
- Track all temporary deviations for upcoming or in process work orders (Excel).
- Deviations - Make all changes on the parts list / routing (JD Edwards)
- Coordinate the schedule with the Account Managers, Purchasing, Production and Warehouse, Quality & R&D Departments (Microsoft Project).
- Update and distribute charts / graphs weekly, monthly & quarterly for “On Time Delivery”, “Production Output”, “Jobs ran Short” (Excel)
- Establish positive and ethical relationships with all other departments and internal customers.
- Perform all other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 4 years of comparable experience preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency using MS Windows and Office particularly Excel.
- APICS and JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Foundational understanding of Scheduling & Manufacturing practices.
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization while demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy.
- Ability to make strategic recommendations and take appropriate action.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to provide coaching, leadership and direction to others.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Subject to normal warehouse and production environment
- Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required
- Subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes from the machines, fumes, odors, powders, dust and other particles.
