Job Title: Student Maintenance Assistant
Reports To: Facilities Director
Location: Millennium Hall, Harris Hall, and Tubman House at Towson University
Compensation: $15.00-$17.00 per hour. Position works up to 30-hours per week.
FLSA Status: Student Non-Exempt

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university.
Summary:
A Student Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting with the preventative maintenance tasks in the community. This position is a temporary position with the position ending date of 09.01.2024.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- General cleaning of the grounds.
- Replacing air filters.
- Replacing smoke detector and thermostat batteries.
- Replacing light bulbs.
- Distributing items to apartments.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma.
- Current student at Towson University
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
- Possess strong customer service skills.
- Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Per company policy and the State of Maryland Department of Labor, all employees who work 5 (five) or more hours in a single day are provided a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
