Compensation: $17.00 per hour, Furnished Private Bedroom (Position not eligible for benefits.)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Student

COCM (Capstone On-Campus Management) is a group of student housing professionals focused on providing management and consulting services for student housing owned by non-profits: colleges, universities, and non-profit foundations. At California State University San Marcos, our partnership includes utilizing facilities and services during the summer months to generate revenue to support the campus. In doing so, COCM provides conference and event management services to both internal, CSUSM affiliated groups, and external non-affiliated groups.
Summary:
Summer Conference Assistants will support the day-to-day operations of the Summer Conference Program. This includes but is not limited to, client check-in/check-out, supply inventory, customer service, and serving on an on-call duty rotation. Projecting a customer-focused and professional image through interactions with all internal and external customers is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day tasks of Summer Conference Program operations including: check-in and check-out, apartment inspections and work orders, supply room and material inventory, dining hall and meal staffing, conference events and administrative office tasks.
- Serve in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency and crisis response for conference guests
- Provide customer service to conference guests by being professional, friendly, and courteous during interactions
- Participate in Summer Conference Staff Training (dates provided during interview).
- Assist with Fall Move-In preparation following the conclusion of the Summer Conference season
- Other duties as assigned or developed
Qualifications:

- Must be enrolled at California State University San Marcos the semester prior to the period of summer employment.
- 2.0 cumulative and semester GPA prior to the period of summer employment.
- Current or previous customer service experience.
- Attention to detail, punctuality, and strong administrative skills.
Remuneration:
- The Summer Conference Assistant is provided a private bedroom in a shared, furnished, air conditioned on-campus apartment complete with bathroom and full kitchen.
- The Summer Conference Assistant will be compensated at an hourly rate of $17.00 per hour.
- 12-15 hours per week, time flexible depending on work week and site needs.
- Dates of employment will be will disclosed during interview.
- SCA staff are prohibited from taking time off during Summer Conference Staff Training, peak periods, and the final 2 weeks of employment to ensure a smooth transition for Fall Move-In.
