Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified professional individual to fill the role of “Packaging Lead”. This role will oversee the packaging operation including the physical packing process, and all associated computer related functions.

Job Description

• Coordinate and lead the packaging team to achieve or exceed production and quality KPI’s.

• Train new packaging team members to quality and production standards.

• Oversee the QC function throughout the packaging process and ensure all quality standards are met or exceeded.

• Assist with and ensure accuracy of all paperwork and computer transactions related to the packaging process.

• Communicate with the warehouse manager and production regarding any bullets that fail inspection and any other issues that impact packaging.

• Monitor inventory levels of all packaging supplies and ensure packaging lines are adequately stocked to support uninterrupted production.

• Inventory, order and receive labels as needed and QC label proofs via e-mail when necessary.

• Oversee and organize Berger bullet yellow box finished goods inventory.

• Organize product to return to production including totes, scratched/stained bullets, etc..

• Perform general maintenance on packaging equipment and complete basic repairs when appropriate.

• Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with all safety requirements.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Completion of Warehouse 2 certification, or the ability to complete certification within 60 days of hire.
• 1-5 years of related experience
• High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Ability to work under pressure and multi task.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Experience in writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to be at work on time on a regular consistent basis.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds from floor level to chest height.

• Must be able to stand for 3-hour duration.

• Must be able to kneel, stoop, and bend continuously through a 3-hour duration.

• Must be able to reach out and over equipment for short periods of time.

• Must be able to lift hands above shoulder height multiple times throughout the 10-hour shift.

• Must be able to push and spread material at waist height multiple times throughout the 10-hour shift.
