Graphic Design/Marketing

Job Summary
The American Real Estate Society (ARES) seeks an Assistant Director for Marketing to provide graphic design, creative, and marketing expertise as well as assist in member services, database management, and event planning. The global real estate thought leader, ARES has 1,500 members including real estate faculty, industry leaders, and students, and hosts 1-2 national conference annually in addition to publishing 6 scholarly journals in the field. ARES administrative offices are located in Athens, Ohio, and the candidate would need to reside locally as well as be able to travel to conferences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and a passion for visual storytelling. You will be responsible for creating engaging designs across various platforms, including digital and print media. The position would be very visible among US and international real estate scholars and thought leaders, and would need to be able to interact with a diversity of professionals.

Preferred skills and abilities include some or all of the following:

• Extremely strong computer/technology skills

• Graphic design major preferred

• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills

* Strong typography and layout skills, familiarity with web design and website layout, illustration skills and knowledge of design hierarchy all a plus

• Excellent visual and communication skills

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with outstanding follow through skills, and desire to provide clients and affiliated companies outstanding service

Skills in the following areas are not required but would be desired:

· Web-based marketing, maintenance, and database management.

· Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs

· Develop visually appealing graphics for websites, social media, marketing materials, and other digital platforms.

Social media marketing

· Must have interest in working as part of a proven team and professionally developing within the real estate field.

The position also has the opportunity to provide marketing and creative design for Capstone Properties, a community-based non-profit. Real estate experience welcome but not required. Applicants should possess an interest in pursuing a long-term career in real estate and association leadership, and a desire to advance towards increasing responsibility. $55,000 to $75,000 annually to start depending on experience and qualifications. Position offers long-term job security and positively impacts the local community. Extensive real estate and management training provided. The position could be combined with a real estate marketing and management role depending on the candidate’s skills and interests.
