What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Property Accountant position at Capstone Real Estate?
The Senior Staff Accountant selected for this role will be able to :
Collect, classify, and post financial information to the companys books.
Prepare and enter journal entries from source documents, post transactions and accruals.
Classify and enter cash receipts.
Complete the monthly financial close for the properties in your portfolio and assist as need on other properties.
Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
Analyze account balances monthly for completeness and correctness, making adjusting entries if necessary.
Prepare schedules to support and document estimates, allocations, and accruals used in the daily, monthly, and annually posting of entries.
Close accounting cycle each month.
Review the financials for every property in your portfolio at month end, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Analyze financial information to compile ad hoc reports for accounting and operations.
Compile information and organize files to maintain historical detail.
Train property accountants on our processes and procedures.
Field questions from property accountants and provide guidance and training on said topics.
Handle special projects as assigned by the Controller and Director of Accounting.
Required skills and achievements for success :
- Four-year degree, preferably accounting
- General accounting certificates and experience
- Knowledge of computer information management procedures
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Conscientious
- Dependable
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work well with others
- Real Page experience is a plus!
