We have an immediate opening for an Entry Level Aerospace Engineer to work in our Huntsville, AL office. The successful candidate will join the interdisciplinary Systems Analysis Group supporting existing joint tactical integrated fire control projects/programs covering Software DevOps, Model Based Systems Engineering, and Aerospace Vehicle Analysis. 2-5 years of modeling, simulation and analysis of aerospace vehicle systems are desired, including co-op, intern, academic research and/or other work experience.

Responsibilities
- Work on-site within a collaborative team environment to engineer joint tactical integrated fire control solutions
- Provide modeling, simulation, and analysis products that will dovetail with products from other team members
- Provide engineering level inputs and assistance to system models already under development as needed
- Progress to independent execution of products to cover our broad DoD customer base
- Participate in execution of complex system of systems analysis plans
- Conduct algorithm prototyping in Matlab/Simulink that will be auto-code ported for use as plug-ins to the AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling) assessment environment, as part of a team effort
- Interface with science & technology project leads to determine necessary requirements to integrate outside applications and algorithms into the AFSIM framework
- Develop and evaluate the system using standard and novel measures of performance and effectiveness as required
- Participate in periodic program reviews and technical presentations to Government stakeholders
- Take full advantage of conference, training, and advanced education opportunities offered by Capstone Research
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering with aeronautics and/or astronautics focus
- Modeling, simulation, and analysis experience
- Algorithm development and computer programming experience
- Experience working in a collaborative environment
- Desire to work on complex system-of-systems analysis problems utilizing genetic algorithms, machine learning, artificial intelligence (e.g., deep reinforcement learning), sliding mode controller/observer, as well as traditional analysis, optimization, and controller synthesis techniques
- Algorithm, modeling and simulation, or visualization experience using Python, C , GitLab, STK, and/or MATLAB
- Good problem-solving skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time as required
- 3 references, including 1 personal and 2 who are familiar with the candidate's prior professional work experience
- U.S. Citizenship
- Experience with DoD operations, concepts, and technologies and their supporting sensors, weapons, communication, and data transport networks
- Experience conducting analysis and development in AFSIM
- Experience with sensor/information fusion technologies and approaches (e.g. Kalman and Bayesian filters)
