Responsibilities Overview
This Senior Manufacturing Specialist will oversee daily operations to meet production goals, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality output. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, technical expertise, and optimization skills to drive process improvements and maintain compliance.
Main Areas of Focus:
- Daily Manufacturing Activities: Metal cutting, forming, welding, machining, assembly, and finishing processes must be overseen to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies, and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaboration and Planning: Work with production planning teams to create schedules aligning with customer needs and inventory requirements, adjusting as needed to address production challenges.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure adherence to quality standards, working closely with the QA team to resolve any issues.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage supervisors, technicians, and operators, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Safety Management: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular audits, risk assessments, and safety training to maintain a safe environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and repair, coordinating with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- Operational Cost Management: Manage operational costs and contribute to financial planning, monitoring resource utilization and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Work with the supply chain team to procure raw materials and components, minimizing production delays.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, maintaining accurate production records and reports.
- Tech Integration: Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies, leading the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies and automation.
- Problem-Solving: Address production issues promptly, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize disruptions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a metalworking or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of metalworking processes, including CNC machining, welding, cutting, forming, and assembly.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
