Fairfield County Hedge Fund is currently searching for a highly skilled, experienced, and hands on Senior Cloud Architect with a security mindset to lead the advancement of our cloud capabilities and drive innovation across our growing organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in cloud architecture and engineering. This strategic role is integral to the modernization
of our infrastructure by implementing the latest in cloud technologies, data management best practices, and AI / ML integration to handle the complex demands of companies business lines.
Initial Objectives :
Comprehensively review and analyze the existing IT infrastructure and recommend a strategy and transition plan to move to the cloud.
Develop a cloud governance framework and best practices for managing cloud resources.
Work with core infrastructure teams (server, networking, desktop, etc.), development, and database teams to implement the cloud
strategy.
Key Responsibilities :
Analyze current mix of on-premise and cloud.
Architect and lead the evolution of our company's cloud infrastructure with an emphasis on maintainability, scalability, efficiency, and security.
Strategically direct the transition of legacy systems to cutting-edge cloud-based platforms, ensuring each migration is justified with a clear ROI and aligns with the firm's financial objectives.
Define cloud governance and ensure adherence to standards across the organization.
Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in cloud technology.
Qualifications / Skills
Required :
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10 years experience in technology related roles.
5 years of direct experience in cloud related technologies.
Experience transitioning infrastructure, services, data, etc. from on-premises to the cloud.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
Experience deploying cloud-based data services (Microsoft Azure and Snowflake highly desired).
Ability to design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions.
Knowledgeable in data security and privacy regulations pertinent to the financial industry.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective articulation of complex ideas and collaboration across departments.
Preferred :
Relevant certifications in cloud technologies with a preference towards Azure.
Experience leading a team or project.
A track record of building strong collaborative relationships across an organization
Experience with SSPM and / or CSPM technologies.
Budgeting and financial tracking experience.
A track record of delivering projects that meet strategic business goals.
A foundational understanding of financial markets and various trading instruments or a willingness to learn.
