Position Summary
Our distinguished client, one of the most respected manufacturing companies on the East Coast, is seeking a dedicated Facilities/Maintenance Manager to join their leadership team. With a rich history of excellence, this company is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and employee longevity.
In this critical role, you will oversee the seamless operation of our client’s manufacturing facilities, manage a seasoned maintenance team, and report directly to the Plant Manager. You’ll oversee a team of electricians, engineers, and mechanics—team members with decades of institutional knowledge who are deeply invested in the company’s success.
Job Description
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of 4 direct reports, including electricians, engineers, and mechanics. Foster collaboration and leverage their extensive experience to optimize operations.
- Facilities and Equipment Management: Oversee the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of manufacturing facilities and equipment to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and supply needs, ensuring cost efficiency and quality service.
- Production Prioritization: Work closely with the Plant Manager to align maintenance activities with production schedules, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Promote a culture of safety across all operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability, streamline processes, and reduce costs without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Facilities or Maintenance Manager role within the manufacturing industry is required.
- Strong background in managing diverse teams, including tradespeople with long tenures.
- Demonstrated expertise in vendor management, production prioritization, and facilities operations.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
