Job Title : Electrician Production Technician
Job Summary : The Electrician Production Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing or production environment. This role involves ensuring safe and efficient electrical systems operation, minimizing downtime, and supporting the production process. This is an onsite position, Monday- Friday and the hours are 6 AM- 2 : 30 PM.
Key Responsibilities :
- Installation and Maintenance :
Install, wire, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and machinery as required for production processes.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and rectify potential electrical issues.Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations. Troubleshooting and Repair :Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, utilizing appropriate testing equipment and tools.
Repair or replace faulty components, such as switches, circuit breakers, motors, transformers, and control panels.Address emergency breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.Calibration and Testing :Calibrate and test electrical equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop and implement testing protocols.Documentation :Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements performed on electrical systems.
Generate reports detailing findings, actions taken, and recommendations for process improvements.Safety and Compliance :Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when working on electrical systems to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical work.Collaborative Efforts :Collaborate with other production technicians, engineers, and maintenance staff to address cross-functional issues and optimize overall production efficiency.
Continuous Improvement :Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Recommend upgrades or modifications to existing electrical systems to meet changing production requirements.Training and Support :Provide guidance and training to junior technicians or operators on electrical systems and safe work practices.In addition to electrical duties, when downtime occurs the position will be required to assist in other departments depending on the company's need. This could look like cleaning, organizing, assembling, driving (errands), etcQualifications and Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical education or apprenticeship in electrical trade is preferred.2 years of electrician experience.Valid electrician's license or certification as required by local regulations.Proven experience working as an electrician in a production or manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment.Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and industrial automation systems is a plus.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and convey technical information effectively.Physical capability to perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
