Peace Camp Director (Part Time, Non-Exempt, Temporary)
Reports To: Outreach Center Program Manager
Job Summary:
The Peace Camp Director is responsible for the coordination and operation of Peace Camp. This includes planning, staff training and supervision, program execution and evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the development and operation of the day-to-day programming of Peace Camp
· Provide coordination of staff training
· Coordinate parent orientation and training programs
· Maintain records of planning meetings, training materials, camp correspondence, and camp programming materials
· Work with Interventional Counselor and other camp staff as needed in developing individual behavioral modification plans
· Assist Camp staff in executing daily routine and programming
· Record daily contacts with campers and caregivers
· Supervise all camp programming and activities
· Prepare weekly communication to caregivers regarding schedules, activities, etc.
· Complete and submit a final report on the Camp Program
· Performs other related duties as required by the Outreach Center Program Manager
Skills Required:
- Ability to work with children, adolescents as well as adults
- Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.
- Patience, flexibility and good communication skills
- Crisis Intervention skills, as well as the ability to train and lead staff in crisis intervention
- Ability to lift and carry minimum of 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in counseling or related field, experience with special education population: or
- Graduation from a four-year college with Bachelor Degree in social work, counseling, special education or related field; with extensive experience with special needs children and families; or
- Experience running a specialized camp program
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated above
- Must possess a valid and clean NYS Driver’s License
- Employment contingent upon successful background check including NYS Central Registry of Child Abuse and Maltreatment
Telecommuting and Remote Work: This position is not eligible for Remote Work.
