Job Summary
Looking for a safety-conscious, fast-learning, speedy-worker, with multitasking ability. This position carries a dual-role of Cashier and Fry Cook. Employee interfaces with customers to take orders on the Point Of Sale system, and then batters and deep fries the orders.
Duties
- Operate POS systems to process customer transactions efficiently.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their purchases.
- Handle credit, and debit transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, fry station, and surrounding spaces.
- Follow food safety requirements, religiously.
- Maintain fry oil cleanliness and temperatures, perpetually.
- Keep condiment station stocked, organized, and clean.
- Follow emergency response procedures, as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age, per L&I requirements.
- Current Washington State DOH Food Handler's Card.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience as a Fry Cook or Line Cook is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Familiarity with POS systems, and basic math skills.
- Adequate short-term memory, and ability to work multiple orders, simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain an organized workspace and diligently maintain deep fryer temperatures within specified ranges (temperatures are monumentally-important for fire safety, food safety, and overall food quality).
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and perseverance.
There are opportunities for advancement and promotion, based on performance, aptitude, and reliability. Captain Corndog's is looking to open a second food cart in the Shelton area, when the Belfair location is fully-staffed and trained.
The cart and work station will be fully-stocked, organized, clean, and ready for you to work. All food will be pre-prepared, and ready for you to fry or dip-n-fry.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 42 per week
