Catering Assistant Job Description

Reports To: Catering Director

Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Catering Assistant to join our team at Captain Hirams Resort. The Catering Assistant will support the catering team in preparing, setting up, and delivering exceptional events for our clients. This role involves a variety of tasks including event setup, breakdown, and providing exceptional customer service during events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Help set up event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and decorations as required.

· Ensure all catering equipment is properly stored, maintained, and ready for use.

· Provide friendly and professional service to guests during events, ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously.

· Assist with event breakdown, including cleaning and packing up catering equipment and materials.

· Ensure all food and beverage items are replenished as needed throughout events.

· Assist in managing inventory and restocking supplies for catering operations.

· Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines in food preparation and service.

· Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the catering areas.

· Work closely with the catering team to ensure smooth event operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in catering, food service, or hospitality preferred but not required.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.

· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

· Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as trays and equipment.

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

· A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand for long periods.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to work in outdoor environments for events, with exposure to various weather conditions.

Compensation:

· $20 hourly – Scheduled 32 – 40 hours weekly
