  • Receives commercial and individual checking deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, and issues receipts.
  • Accepts checks for cashing or paying, verifies endorsement, validity and funds, and makes change.
  • Receives savings deposits. Pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature.
  • Receives loan payments, checks due dates, and applies additional principal when applicable.
  • Always keeps cash secure and maintains a high level of safety for the bank.
  • Maintains proper levels of cash in cash drawer.
  • Balance Cash daily, adhere to all branch procedural controls.
  • Balance ATM at least twice a week if not more frequent.
  • Follow all bank Policies and Procedures.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls by the second ring, always in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer customer questions when necessary, always using the opportunity to encourage cross-selling of other bank services.
  • Process Incoming mail deposits and payments.
  • Process Wire Transfer Requests, Stop Payment Requests, Change of Address, Visa Debit Card Requests and disputes.
  • Allow customer access to safe deposit box.
  • Perform any duties requested by management relating to the Bank and it's function.

Qualifications: Computer literacy, calculator operation, and detail oriented. Exercises accuracy, courtesy, tact, and patience. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and personal skills. Money handling, 10-Key. A high regard for quality, confidentiality, propriety and process control. A desire to excel, not just settle for mediocre in one’s performance. The ability to set goals and attain them. The ability to travel short distances for regular training and upgrading of banking skills. Desire to go the distance and provide a stable working experience.

Education/Experience: High school diploma, some college preferred. Prior banking and teller experience preferred. Typical incumbent will have 0 to 3 years of related experience

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. We want people who pitch in and help others enhance their ability to educate our customers.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Accounting software.

Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands: Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-15 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds. Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination.
