Responsibilities
- Lead the Retirement Plan Consulting team and maintain oversight over all business functions including:
- Technical and regulatory guidance for qualified retirement plans
- Fiduciary training
- Plan design consulting and benchmarking
- Industry thought leadership
- Prospect support
- Onboarding clients
- Misc consulting services (i.e., project work)
- Manage and mentor members of the Retirement Plan Consulting team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement
- Provide ERISA expertise and technical support to CAPTRUST’s Financial Advisors and clients
- Provide client support around plan design including cost and impact analysis, plan design benchmarking and peer to peer reviews
- Provide prospect support for Financial Advisors around plan design
- Keep internal and external parties up to date on regulatory matters
- Present and maintain fiduciary training modules for plan committees to ensure clients understand their role as a fiduciary
- Oversee third-party partnerships to facilitate quarterly fiduciary webinars, on-demand training, CE administration and content management, etc
- Responsible for maintaining and updating content of the Retirement Plan Consulting team intranet page, SharePoint site and deliverable templates
- Ownership of CAPTRUST’s annual plan design benchmark and deliverables
- Maintain strong relationships with plan auditors, ERISA council and actuarial service providers
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
- 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Knowledge of ERISA guidelines and regulations
- Experience working with defined contribution plans, specifically 401(k) and 403(b) plans
- Retirement plan administration or compliance experience with a recordkeeper or TPA
- Supervisory experience required
- Excellent project management and organization skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented with a passion for problem-solving
- Industry-related certifications and designations are desired (examples: QPA, QKA, CEBS)
- Experience with Microsoft products, especially Excel/PowerPoint
