Position Summary

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with the Azure tech stack, strong Power BI skills, and familiarity with AI/ML workflows to support analytics, reporting, and intelligent automation initiatives.
The Data Engineer is a full-time, remote, exempt position and reports to the Sr. Director, Data and Analytics.
Base Salary: $140,000 - $160,000.
Specific Responsibilities
This position does not have direct reports. However, the Data Engineer may collaborate with contractors or external vendors on specific initiatives and is encouraged to provide technical guidance to interns or newer team members when appropriate.

Specific Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines in Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
- Develop and maintain datasets in Delta Lake and OneLake to support analytics and reporting.
- Support the ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data into Azure SQL Server and Snowflake.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support AI/ML model development and deployment.
- Write efficient, well-documented SQL and Python code to support data workflows.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data quality and pipeline performance issues.
- Contribute to metadata management, data cataloging, and data documentation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and team knowledge sharing sessions.
- Assist in implementing data governance and security best practices.

Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Delta Lake.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake architecture.
- Proficient in building reports and dashboards in Power BI.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory for data ingestion and transformation.
- Understanding of Azure SQL Server and Snowflake for data storage and querying.
- Exposure to AI/ML workflows, including model training, data preprocessing, or feature engineering.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first environment.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in a data engineering or analytics engineering role.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Power BI reports and working with modern cloud data tools.
- Experience supporting AI/ML data workflows is highly desirable.
- Prior exposure to enterprise or healthcare data environments is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Azure Data Engineer Associate or related certification (preferred).
- Coursework or certification in AI/ML (preferred but not required).
