Car City on 28th Street in Wyoming, MI, is looking to hire a certified Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our growing service department! The current schedule for this position is Mon-Fri starting at 7am to about 5pm (40 hours with overtime as needed and potential to get out early on Fridays).

Automotive Technician/Mechanic Qualifications and Essential Functions:
- 2 or more State of Michigan Mechanic Certifications or ASE that can transfer
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record (ability to drive on and off the car lot as needed)
- Current or previous automotive technician/mechanic experience in area(s) certified in
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Ability to lift/push/pull 60 pounds, manual dexterity, extent flexibility (bend/twist/reach/etc.), and near vision/hearing sensitivity
- Self-motivated/independent and work as an efficient/effective team player as needed
- Ability to be trained on and use department software as needed
- Follow Company/department safety protocols and procedures to complete work as needed to meet standards
- Full-time schedule (40 hours per week and overtime as needed/specified)
Special Features of being an Automotive Technician/Mechanic:
- Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions
- Repair/replace/adjust as needed; test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications; follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and/or other potentially troublesome areas
- Review repair or work orders to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and discuss work to be performed & future repair requirements with management as necessary
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services and ensure maintenance meets standards
